Ideal for families, the spacious two-bedroom suite features a master en suite bedroom overlooking stunning views of the sprawling bushland, with a smaller adjoining room for two children. Raised wooden decks provide picturesque views of the surrounding landscape, a perfect place to watch the sunset after a day of revelry under the African sun.
Rock Cliff Room
With only eight rooms, you will always enjoy an exclusive and luxurious atmosphere. The lodge consists of four rooms, one Master Suite, two Makwela Suites and one Rock Suite. The rooms are individually designed to bring a taste of Africa to the elegant furnishings and you will find modern as well as traditional African art, tastefully chosen for each room. All the rooms are air conditioned and have private decks from which to enjoy the panoramic views of the savannah. Rooms are spacious, have beautiful en suite bathrooms and offer complimentary mini-bars as well as tea-and-coffee-making facilities.
Because they are built across the rock face, suites can run over three levels, with stairs connecting each floor.
The two Makwela Suites enjoy all the luxuries of the standard rooms, but have the added convenience of their own private plunge pools. These rooms are ideal for couples who prefer a private place to cool off in the afternoon.
The Master Suite is ideal for romantics, as it stands on its own, a little removed from the other suites and boasts a private entrance. Here you will also find a private plunge pool, creating a wonderful romantic spot for honeymooners.
The Rock Suite consists of two en suite rooms that are connected and forms the ideal place for families or two couples travelling together.
The Aroma Boma beauty treatment centre offers a range of relaxing massages and beauty treatments to rejuvenate your senses after a day on safari. The gym is ideal for those who feel like an energising workout.
The Cub’s Club offers a fun and educational place for children up to the age of 11 to learn about the wilderness and enjoy it in their own way. They’ll each receive a backpack on arrival, filled with fun goodies and they can also enjoy special Cub meals that are specially tailored to their needs.
The infinity pool is probably one of the best spots from which to enjoy the magnificent views and it has its own natural waterfall, creating a wonderful, natural feel. Lounge beside the water and enjoy drinks and refreshments from the poolside bar, served to you on your deck chair.
The resident chefs at Ulusaba are dedicated to bringing you only the finest cuisine at every mealtime. Sit back to enjoy hearty breakfasts, delicious lunches and romantic dinners, tailored according to your dietary preferences while you sip on exquisite South African wines, choosing one from the impressive wine collection. Meals are generally communal, allowing you the opportunity to chat to other guests and make new friends.
For a more intimate, special dining experience, you can enjoy your meal in the bush, by the light of the stars and candles.

“Rock Lodge gave us the opportunity to visit a school on Nelson Mandela’s birthday in order to paint animals on the walls. This was great fun and a very grateful experience. Ann-Sofie decided to volunteer for some charity work next summer. “
“Ulusaba was quite special. We definitely plan to take the family there on the next trip!”
“The holiday was absolutely fantastic. We really enjoyed each and every part of it – particularly I would say Ulusaba Rock Lodge.”
