December 8, 2020
Ulusaba is a private game reserve belonging to Sir Richard Branson. It is set in the heart of the Sabi Sands reserve on the border of the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Privately owned, guests will be treated to 10 000 acres of unspoilt, game-rich bush in near solitude. Experienced trackers and game rangers accompany guests on game drives in open land rovers, tracking the Big Five and sharing their vast knowledge of the surrounding wildlife with guests.
There are three lodges on offer at Ulusaba. Rock Lodge is perched high on the summit of a koppie rocky hill. Marvel at the spectacular panoramic views over miles of bush, the wildlife roaming within, the beauty of the lowveld bushy grassland plain below, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Moutain range far in the distance. Rock Lodge can accommodate up to 18 guests in eight ultra-luxurious suites.
Safari Lodge is built along the banks of the dry Mabrak riverbed. The rooms are built tree-house style and guests really get the feeling of being at the heart of life in the bush. The rooms promise fascinating views of the animals as they stroll past on their way to the nearby watering hole. Safari Lodge accommodates 20 guests in seven luxury chalets and three stunning suites.
At both camps, game is viewed in open 4×4 Land Rovers with an armed ranger and tracker, and walking safaris are also conducted. Guests can use the state-of-the-art gymnasium, or enjoy a game of tennis on one of the two courts complete with a Viewing Pavillion for which rackets and balls are provided.
The Aroma Boma Spas at Ulusabas Rock and Safari Lodges offer the perfect retreat for weary travllers. An entire range of treatments is available, including facials and massages as well as essential grooming rituals. Away from the spa guests can enjoy a massage in the comfort of the room, on one of the outdoor decks, or even by the pool.
The exclusivity of Ulusaba affords the management the luxury of personally overseeing each guests visit. The rate includes luxury accommodation, three meals a day, all beverages, daily game viewing activities in open vehicles, optional walking safaris accompanied by a professional field guide, services of the professional field guides and lodge staff, a laundry and valet service, a personal bar account and a tourism levy.
