SINGITA IN SOUTH AFRICA

The privately-owned 45,000-acre Singita Game Reserve in the heart of
world-renowned Sabi Sand region of South Africa offers two unique safari lodges. Singita Boulders Lodge and Singita Ebony Lodge, each comprising 12 suites, offer two very distinct settings from which to explore the reserve. Both Singita Boulders and Singita Ebony lodge are renowned worldwide for their commitment to exclusivity and privacy in one of the finest settings in Africa.

Renowned for a diverse concentration of wildlife, the Sabi Sand location offers vast savannah and forest backdrops.

Superb wildlife viewing at the Singita Game Reserve ranges from witnessing the Big Five to numerous herds of antelope and on occasion, rarer nocturnal game such as bat-eared fox and the African wild dog. Over 300 species of birds can also be spotted on game drive, or from the balcony of your suite.

SINGITA FROM NOVEMBER THROUGH DECEMBER

These summer months are very hot and humid at Singita Game Reserve with either continual rain or afternoon thunderstorms that generally clear by early evening. This is the time when you get to see a lot of young wildlife, particularly the just-born Impala lambs that are at a vulnerable stage as easy prey.

SINGITA FROM JANUARY TO MARCH

These summer months are generally drier with very hot days. This is the season when the beautiful migratory birds pass through Singita Game Reserve. Early morning game drives offer an opportunity to go out into the reserve before the mid-day heat takes over the day.

SINGITA IN APRIL

This is Autumn at Singita Game Reserve. Foliage metamorphoses from lush to a drier and sparser bush. Temperatures drop to a comfortable degree with nights tending to be a little on the chilly side. Some scattered thunderstorms are experienced in the afternoons.

SINGITA FROM MAY TO JUNE

Winter at Singita Game Reserve is a great time to visit on safari. The day time temperatures range between high-50’s to mid-60’s fahrenheit. Warm clothing should be packed for your trip. Gloves, scarves, beanies and jackets are recommended. Large herds of Elephant migrate back into the area and the bush becomes much sparses leading to better visibility. The Sand River is a highlight at this time.

SINGITA FROM JULY TO SEPTEMBER

The dry winter season brings in colder night temperatures and chillier early mornings. Afternoons tend to warm and as the wildlife concentrates around the few water sources, the game viewing leads to wonderful photography.

SINGITA FROM SEPTEMBER TO OCTOBER

Spring slowly colors the Singita Game Reserve bringing hot dry winds. The waterholes are still low and plentiful game can be viewed at these areas. The season’s first rains start towards the end of October.

SINGITA IN TANZANIA

Spread over 350 000 acres of pristine, private-owned, untouched wilderness, the Singita Grumeti Reserves in North Tanzania forms part of the spectacular Serengeti-Mara ecosystem of East Africa. Singita Grumeti Reserves offers one of the most extraordinary wildlife viewing spectacles on earth with its prime location in the Great Serengeti, unmatched to any other experience in East Africa.

Serengeti is a Maasai word meaning ‘the place where the land stretches as far as the eye can see’. This seemingly infinite private reserve, roughly the size of the average country in Europe, is set aside for the enjoyment of just a handful of guests with only three camps, each with its own unique location along the famous migratory route traversed by over a million animals every year. Within this vast reserve’s exclusivity you will seldom encounter another game viewing vehicle when you set out on a drive to witness the region’s wildlife, and you are at liberty to stay out as long as you like to observe the prides of lions and collosal herds of wildebeest, amongst all the other big game.

SINGITA FROM DECEMBER THROUGH MARCH

Summer is hot and humid at Singita Grumeti Reserves with short-lived afternoon thunderstorms. The migratory herds start returning to the east of Serengeti region. February sees the birth of beautiful young foals and cubs as the herds gather and mass for the new year’s migration. Beautiful migratory birds pass through Singita Grumeti Reserves during this time.

SINGITA FROM APRIL TO MAY

Off season. This is the heavy rain season in Tanzania and game viewing is sparse.

SINGITA FROM JUNE THROUGH AUGUST

Peak Season. The Annual Wildebeest Migration occurs during this time offering the most incredible game viewing spectacle anywhere on earth. Advance reservations are essential as the small and intimate camps offer very limited suites, selling out as far out as a year in advance. Climate is dry during this winter season and the grass is short offering excellent opportunities for seeing all the Big Game that Africa is famous for. A wonderful time to visit.

SINGITA FROM SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER

Peak season. Though the migratory herds have moved into the Masai Mara plains by this time, the permanent game concentration at Singita Grumeti Reserves still offers fantastic year-round game viewing. You can easily combine this with a visit to the luxury safari camp at Singita Mara River in thw Lamai to enjoy the migration unfolding on the plains to the north of the reserve. In October and November, the short rain season is experienced in the Singita Grumeti Reserves which lasts upto December.
