Singita’s Sweni Lodge is an intimate and luxurious bush lodge situated on a private concession inside the famous Kruger National Park. The lodge is built on the banks of the Sweni River, offering expansive views over the river and the surrounding Kruger bush. The unique architecture of the lodge lends itself to the environment with the wooden decks spreading out amongst the twisting tree branches overlooking the river.
The main Sweni Lodge area consists of a large open plan timber-framed building jutting out over the river. There is also a lounge area, small library, wine cellar, boutique and gallery. The open sided lounge houses a good selection of comfortable chairs and couches as well as a fireplace for chilly evenings. The lounge flows out onto the large timber deck where guests can enjoy a drink from the bar or relax on a sun lounger around the swimming pool overlooking the river.
There are six luxury river-side suites, and each unit is elevated high into the trees and offers expansive views across the river and Kruger bush. The suites themes are large open-plan timber buildings with a private viewing deck, complete with outdoor shower and a day bed for sleeping out under the stars. Inside, floor-to-ceiling glass panels create a seamless flow between the bushveld and the unit itself. The main bedroom houses king or twin beds and is equipped with air conditioning, mini bar, telephone and safe. The en-suite bathroom offers an indoor shower, twin basins and a bathtub with a view.
Sweni Lodge offers morning and evening game drives, stargazing, mountain biking and archery. Guests can also book walking safaris as well as guided nature trails and visits to the local communities. Sweni guests have access to the nearby Lebomobo lodge gym, spa and other amenities including a wine studio and an interactive ranger centre. Sweni Lodge is in a Big 5 area – with regular sightings of lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and many other species.
