This overnight wilderness experience is a raised deck overlooking the Sabie River, where animals are drawn to drink. Torchlight adds to the authenticity and romance of the experience.

Adventure Level:

Exciting open feel. There is nothing between you and millions of stars.

Highlights:

This is truly the place to star-gaze.
River frontage means good game viewing…and lots of night sounds to look forward to.

Description:

This camp offers 5 chalets and 1 treehouse room for the more adventurous. Open fronted, and comfortable the treehouse is elevated above the ground.

Adventure Level:

A treehouse room in a small camp, rather than a solitary night outdoors. Semiadventurous.

Laid-back camp specialising in walking safaris.
Intimate safari experience.

Rhino Walking Safaris Sleepout Platform

Description:

Guests depart on foot from Plains Camp (home of Rhino Walking Safaris) to the platforms arriving in the early evening in time to enjoy Sundowners on the platforms overlooking a waterhole where animals are drawn to drink.

Adventure Level:

Adventurous, but as there are other platforms nearby, you won’t feel too isolated.

  • Positioned on a private wilderness concession in the heart of the the world-renowned Kruger National Park
  • Solid structure with 4 sleepout platforms
  • Walking Safaris are the main activity at Plains Camp (home of Rhino Walking Safaris). Right on your doorstep, a mere 30 minute drive from Plains Camp, is our sister lodge, Rhino Post Safari Lodge, from where 2 daily on road game drives are done, offering an all round safari experience

Costs:

No additional charge from Plains Camp. Sleepouts are totally weather dependent. The first guests to reserve a trail determine whether a Sleepout will be done on that trail or not.

A night at the Sleepout decks is available from Rhino Post as an optional activity. There is no extra cost for a group of 4 or more. For 3 or less guests a surcharge will be levied. Prior arrangement required and subject to availability.

Makalali Conservancy, Greater Kruger

Description:

Sleep out on a beautiful deck with stunning views over the bushveld. This platform is a 20 minute drive from the main camp.

High adventure level. Romantic and isolated, just you and the animals.

Secluded and private.

Costs:

Full nightly rate applies, which is inclusive of the sleep-out experience.
