Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge – Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve
What an amazing experience! Luxurious accommodation, outstanding service, friendly staff, very knowledgeable rangers and trackers … the ultimate bush experience!
I decided to surprise my husband for his 50th Birthday at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge. We were treated like royalty. The Staff were so super organised, professioal and efficient and by the time we left the next day, we felt as though we had made new friends. The Rangers knowledge was exceptional and he made a fuss of all creatures great and small. The food was outstanding and the ambience perfect. A great THANK YOU to Carien who did our booking. She was a complete star. To everyone concerned, thanks for making my husband’s special night a memorable one
We had always wanted to visit the Kruger and in particular the private Sabi Sands reserve, for many years we had heard of Sabi Sabi group’s renowned Earth Lodge and were given the option of the Bush Lodge which we booked for November 2014 and this lodge suited us perfectly. We flew into the Skukuza private airport from Johannesburg, a very small and superbly maintained little airport and were met by our game ranger Pravir. We arrived at the Bush Lodge shortly therafter and were welcomed by the manager and other staff. The Bush Lodge is nicely spread out and the rooms are extremely spacious with huge bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers. I enjoyed the Nespresso coffee in my room. The breakfast buffet had a fair variety and high tea at 4pm was an absolute delight. Dinners with our game ranger and fellow guests, under the stars with a central fireplace, gave us a real sense of bush comaraderie. The ‘Ele-Fun’ kids club was a treat for our 6 year old daughter and the teachers and carers carried out fun little projects with our daughter which she thoroughly enjoyed.Having had many safari experiences, we were very lucky to have encountered a Leopard and her cub on our very first game drive, what a priviledge! Over the next few days we had encounters with all sorts of animals, birds and reptiles with our very knowledgeable game ranger Pravir. The night game drives were a lot of fun and for safety, game rangers walk guests to their rooms after dark.Right from the professional handling of our reservation from the head office to the lodge itself, our experience at the lodge was very memorable and comfortable. We would highly recommend this lodge for a wonderful family friendly experience.
A holiday we will remember for the excellent accommodation/ service/ smiling people/ amazing daily safaris/ knowledgeable guide and tracker/ great (and abundant) food and everyone always willing to go the extra step to ensure the stay was fulfilling. We have agreed as a small group from three widely different global postcodes to return for a re-union in 2015. While out on night safari we saw three satellites as the sky was so clear. Big thanks to all the staff but especially Francois/ Zulu and Evidence for really making it special. They made the decision to return very easy. (BTW New Years Eve was quite a night……..)
Went here for my first visit to Africa and my first safari. It was amazing. The morning and afternoon safari rides were great. The driver and tracker were so accommodating and even made sure we tromped around the bush to catch a glimpse of a giraffe! The rooms were amazing and we even had an outdoor shower. So cool! Would love to go back and take my mother here!
We spent 3 nights at Bush Lodge and had the most incredible experience for our first African Safari. The lodge is beautiful, rooms were very comfortable and every little detail was taken care of, the hot water bottles to warm the beds at night were much appreciated. The staff did everything they could to make sure every need was met, the food was delicious and plentiful, everyone made us feel so welcome. The game drives and bush walks were exciting with our own very knowledgeable ranger who had so much patience for the seemingly never ending questions of our 2 children, they and we all learnt a lot about the animals, birds and plants that we saw. One of many highlights for me was a leopard with her 4 month old cub, a very special treat to be able to watch them on their morning stroll from a few meters away. I can’t wait to go back!
One of the coolest hotels I’ve been to when visiting Africa. I highly recommend it for families and couples. Very cool safaris and organized activities. Rooms were beautiful and characteristic and food and spa services were at high level .
We stayed at Bush Lodge in August for five days with our teenage daughters. I was nervous having booked for five nights in just one place, but it was brilliant. We were paired with a lovely German couple who were also there for five nights. They were as passionate as us about the wildlife, like us, not missing one of the 11 safari outings! After seeing the Big 5 in under 24 hours, we were all happy to spend hours watching a leopard and her cub, following a pack of wild dogs with their cubs, seeing a leopard steal the wild dog’s kill or watching a three day elephant get to grips with its trunk! We were so engrossed that we voluntarily missed some sundowner drinks! Our tracker, Heavy was amazing and had a lovely rapport with our ranger/guide Steve. They were a great combination. Heavy was fantastic at finding the animals and Steve, who was so enthusiastic, had a brilliant eye for a great camera shot. Our rooms were lovely and all the staff were friendly. Don’t think that it’s health and safety gone mad when they insist on walking you to your room.-we saw a huge hyena in the grounds and a leopard was also spotted while we were there! We went in the British school summer holidays-August. It was cold in the morning and evening-take coats, fleeces, hats and gloves putting on and taking off as necessary! The afternoons were warm enough to sunbathe, although the pool was too cold to swim in. It was a great time to go as there is little greenery, so you get a really good view of the animals. I was worried about the dust as I wear contact lenses, but it wasn’t a problem. We went on the village tour, my teenage daughters loved cuddling the children in the school and having their ‘fortune’ told! Although expensive, as it was all-inclusive, down to insect repellant, the rooms were lovely and there were two fantastic safaris a day, we thought it was really good value. We have memories and photos which will last a lifetime.
