You have now entered the home of more than 66 mammal species, including the magnificent Big Five, the rare African wild dog, and incredible cheetah.

Nine ultra-luxurious glass-fronted suites complete with their own verandah and private plunge pool welcome you on this wild adventure, in the middle of the spectacular malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. Traversing over 185 000 acres of untamed land, the Big 5 (lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino, and leopard) sightings will have you in awe. More than 300 species of birds are also found in the surrounds.

After enjoying a mouth-watering lunch you can unwind from traveling and relax at your private plunge pool or indulge in some pampering at the on-site wellness centre.

Afternoon high tea is followed by your first official wild encounter as you embark on an exhilarating game drive in search of the Big 5. Accompanied by professional game rangers and trackers, state of the art open game vehicles with bucket seats and fold-down armrests ensure your optimum safety and comfort.

The evenings sing of starlight dining, fine cuisine, and glowing fires. Enjoy an unforgettable feast under African skies before retreating to your luxury suite.

  • Day 2
Start your day off with a Game Drive

A sunrise safari sets the tone for another magnificent day in the African bush. Every morning starts with a game drive as the sun’s golden rays kiss the earth, giving you the opportunity to experience an early morning game drive – all the more exhilarating as you see the proof of the night’s events – possibly even the remnants of a kill!

After all the excitement of your morning out in the bush, you would have worked up quite an appetite for the extravagant breakfast waiting for you at camp.

The day can be spent at leisure either partaking in sporting activities, walks, relaxing at the pool or simply putting your feet up and gazing over the watering hole.

Get up close and personal with the wild by embarking on an optional walking safari. The perspective of the bush is entirely different to that of a vehicle, as you learn to read the signs of the wild, hone in on intricate features of the ecosystem and learn to track animal prints and markings.

Your next wild encounter commences before dinner as you head out on a sunset game drive in search of the perfect photograph to capture the essence of Africa’s mystical wonders.

Dinner is an authentic affair of starry skies, crackling fires, and extraordinary cuisine.

  • Day 4
As Madikwe Hills comes to an end receive your last game drive before heading to Leopard Hills Lodge

The magic of Madikwe comes to an end after your last thrilling morning game drive and a breakfast to match.  Your charter flight will whisk you back to Johannesburg from where you will fly on to Leopard Hills. Your next game viewing extravaganza comprises 10 000 hectares of private game viewing territory bordering the world-famous Kruger National Park.

Leopard Hills is situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve renowned for up-close viewing of Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Buffalo, and Leopard.

This haven of luxuriously exclusive privacy boasts eight air-conditioned glass-fronted suites, complete with their own verandah and private plunge pools.  Located amidst diverse ecosystems, Leopard Hills is the ideal destination to view plentiful game in its natural habitat.

  • Day 5
Watch the African wild come to life on the sunrise Safari Drive

Watch the African wild come to life as dawn breaks, with a cup of steaming coffee to keep you warm on your morning game drive.  Enjoy an optional morning bush walk as you learn about the intricacies of nature and breathe in the untainted air of nature at its finest.

You may wish to follow suit as the animals find respite from the heat of the day.  Relax beside your private plunge pool, enjoy a light lunch and catch a nap before enjoying the next round of spectacular game viewing.

On your late afternoon drive, you will stop to watch the sunset and toast to another incredible days safari before heading back to camp for an evening of wining and dining.

Additional night time game drives provide a whole new dimension to your safari experience as the mysteries of nocturnal predators come to life.  Night game drives may allow you to see animals seldom spotted during the day such as porcupines, foxes, owls and bush babies.

As evening dawns and distant wild calls are heard, spotlights are used to track animals and discover the secrets of life after dark in the bushveld.

  • Day 6
Get ready to experience the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

After an early morning safari and breakfast, it’s time to take to the road to the Timbavati. En route to Kings Camp, you will have an unforgettable interaction with elephants. You will have the opportunity to touch the elephant, exchange trunk greetings and offer tasty treats.

Witness their intelligence, compassionate nature and delight when interacting with their human counterparts.

The mighty African Elephant is the world’s largest living land animal. The mere sight of these magnificent tusked creatures is enough to inspire awe in the mind of even the most moderate of wildlife enthusiasts.

An Elephant Back Ride offers a different perspective; embark on a journey which was once a privilege reserved only for kings. This experience, for both young and old, introduces you to Elephant Whispers’ six tamed and trained elephants who were rescued from planned game reserve culling operations by Elephants for Africa Forever (EFAF). As ambassadors for their species, this herd has an important conservation message to share.

Your arrival at the glorious Kings Camp is just in time for lunch. Kings Camp is situated in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park and reflects the charm and romance of a Colonial past in a pristine corner of unspoiled Africa.

The lodge faces an open savanna plain with a waterhole, which is frequented by a wide variety of wildlife. The six generously spacious luxury suites and one luxury family suite are elegantly decorated in colonial opulence.

Guests at Kings Camp can look forward to twice daily game drives in custom-designed safari vehicles, night drives with a spotlight in search of nocturnal creatures, guided bush walks and specialized bird watching safaris with expert guides.

The Timbavati is especially well known for its frequent elephant sightings, as well as leopard and rare African wild dog. It is also home to over 350 bird species, making it a must-see destination for keen bird watchers.

Indulge in a decadent dining experience in the bush at Kings Camp Private Game Reserve. Dining options include fine dining in an elegant dining room, relaxed lunches on the patio overlooking a waterhole, traditional boma dinners, breakfasts in the bush and private romantic evenings on the verandah of your suite.

  • Day 7
Get the opportunity to locate & dart the Rhino

Your days are filled with Big 5 game viewing, returning to the lodge for hearty meals and complete relaxation.

To assist with the rhino poaching epidemic in Africa, the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is darting and micro-chipping their rhino population.

During the months between May and September, guests at Kings Camp are invited to participate in locating and darting the rhino and assisting with tasks such as keeping the rhino cool and checking its temperature.

An expert wildlife vet will be on hand to explain the process throughout and offer opportunities to take photographs of the endangered animal.

We are fighting an ongoing battle against criminals and your involvement in this anti-poaching drive will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This is not an income producing project for the reserve, but a genuine conservation project where the goal is to give back to nature by chipping as many rhinos as possible.

    Same As Above

  • Day 9
