Mala Mala Game Reserve – Luxury Bespoke African Safaris
MalaMala Game Reserve is the benchmark for the luxury safari industry in Southern Africa. It is one of the largest private Big Five game reserves in South Africa and is world-renowned for offering the finest and most consistent Big Five game viewing this side of the equator.
It lies between the iconic Sabi Sands and shares an unfenced boundary with the iconic Kruger National Park. Mala Mala has gained an international reputation as one of the best places in Africa for a photographic safari. Mala Mala has specialised photographic focused guides and specially adapted safari vehicles. Wildlife photographer Geoff Daglish said, “Not even Tanzania’s famed Serengeti fills your camera viewfinder faster with Africa’s legendary Big Five.”
The three upmarket lodges all offer something unique and memorable. MalaMala Rattray’s Camp, with its opulent freestanding suites, epitomises classic safari style. Guests here enjoy spectacular views of the Sand River as well the use of private plunge pools, outdoor showers and a fitness facility. MalaMala Sable Camp is an intimate and contemporary lodge with just seven tasteful suites perfect for those families, groups and individuals looking for an exclusive getaway. MalaMala Camp is an unfenced oasis in the middle of the bush.
Guests can expect outstanding food and wines served in surreal settings at any of the lodges, along with superlative service.
The private reserves of the Greater Kruger have three main airports. If the lodge is in the southern region such as Sabi Sands, then they may fly into Skukuza Airport in the Kruger National Park or Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. If the lodge is much further to the north, then it is easier to fly into Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport as it is much closer.
