“Heaven in Heaven”

Once again we find ourselves in paradise.

From the moment we are met at the private airstrip and greeted with a chilled glass of champagne to the reluctance we feel at having to leave our ‘family in the bush’, Ulusaba is simply magical.

We really don’t want to spoil any of the surprises, safe to say whichever of the lodges you choose and whatever your budget your safari experience will be a life memory to keep you warm on the coldest, most challenging days back home.

Kick back, enjoy, but most of all, come soon.

“Perfect Safari”

We visited Ulusaba on our Honeymoon. We were great by friendly staff with a cold bottle of champagne. That really setting the mood for a perfect safari experience. If you are going to safari in South Africa then go here.

The food is made from locally sourced fresh ingredients and the chefs are great. Each night after returning they will great you and go through the menu for the evening. There is a great selection of drinks available at the bar. The views from Rock Lodge alone are worth the flight from the UK.

There is also a range of facilities available at the lodge including spa and gym.

“Amazing Experience - highly recommended”

The experience at Ulusaba is like nothing else. We stayed at both Safari Lodge and Rock Lodge and I really can’t decide which one I prefer. They both have their own unique vibe. Safari Lodge being down on the river bed let’s you wake up to the sound of the animals, Kudu (antelope) was the only one I could identify as I lay in bed waking up and getting ready for a game drive. The level of luxury and attention to detail in the rooms and the lodge are auto. I had very high expectations of everything and Ulusaba exceeded them all beyond my wildest dreams. We saw zebra and giraffe just getting from the airstrip to the lodge. The rangers and trackers are amazing, so knowledgeable and respectful of the wild animals while still giving you that once in a lifetime experience. Though you realise during your stay that it’s not going to be ONCE in a lifetime… you know you will definitely be back to experience the magic of Ulusaba again. Your every need or want is catered for, the team has a wonderful ability to know exactly what you need and when so you don’t even have to ask. The good, drinks and service are second to none. We saw the big 5 in our first 2 game drives and many more times during our stay. A huge thank you to the entire team for an amazing stay and making our first trip to Africa everything we hoped for and more

“Just as magical as the first time...”

This was our second stay at Ulusaba (in July 2017, the first was in May 2012) & we didn’t think anything could top the first time, but our second time was just as amazing as if it had been our first. I won’t go into detail again because my first review was very detailed & all of it still holds true!

Our guide & tracker this time were Philip & David & they were great! How they spot all those animals is beyond me! Sometimes they were pointing them out & I still couldn’t see them! If I remember correctly, we may have only seen one rhino during our first visit, but this time, we saw a group of 5, a couple of times. We also saw a leopard eating an impala in a tree. We saw all of the Big 5 within 24 hours of arriving – so amazing.

We also got to visit the observatory this time, which we did not have the opportunity to do the first time around. It was so incredible to be able to see the craters on the moon & Saturn’s rings through the telescope.

What I love about Ulusaba is that even though it is incredibly luxurious, it is not stuffy at all. Ulusaba holds a special place in our hearts.
