Cheetah Plains | Sabi Sand Game Reserve
Sabi Sand Game Reserve lies adjacent to the Kruger National Park with no fences between the two reserves, allowing game to move freely between the areas. The Sabi River and the Sand River both cross Sabi Sand making it a haven for wildlife and providing exception Big Five game viewing opportunities. The abundance in water sources for animals to drink has resulted in the area teaming with antelope, zebra, giraffe, hyena, leopard, lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and cheetah.
A large variety of flora, fish, amphibians and over 110 reptiles also call the reserve home. Five hundred bird species make it a bird lovers paradise and a number of endangered species also roam the reserve making for magical encounters when getting a rare glimpse of Honey Badgers, Ground Hornbills and Wild Dogs.
Sabi Sand Game Reserve is the birthplace of sustainable wildlife tourism in Southern Africa. The reserve’s goal is to promote and conserve the fauna and flora in the area and preserve the area as a wildlife sanctuary.
Off-site guests can venture out for exciting adventures such as helicopter flights, fishing, hot air ballooning and mountain biking.
